Roczen expressed his frustration, stating, "I felt like we were bouncing between first and second the entire main event. I gained a bit, but Tomac would always catch up. It was frustrating because I wanted to latch onto that lead and keep pushing." Despite this, Roczen's overall performance at the start of the season is not new, as he has consistently achieved four wins at the opener. However, a significant change has occurred in his confidence and comfort on his motorcycle.
Roczen's newfound confidence stems from his trust in his Progressive Insurance Cycle Gear Suzuki. In the past, he was known for his meticulous bike setup adjustments, but that has evolved. He shared, "I have a lot of confidence in my motorcycle; it works exceptionally well for me. I've ridden it through various dirt conditions without making any changes for months. While crashes and unexpected situations can happen, I feel a deep connection with my bike."
Roczen's dedication to his bike's performance is evident in his minimal adjustments. He hasn't made any changes since before Daytona, fearing potential disruptions. He explained, "I haven't touched it, and I'm cautious about altering it. I know it very well, having ridden it on hard pack, sandy, and clay. While there might be areas for improvement, I'm worried about disrupting other aspects. My riding showcases the bike's capability to excel."
In contrast to many riders switching bike brands, Roczen's comfort and consistency on his current bike are notable. This comfort translates to speed, and if he can maintain this consistency in 2026, Roczen's #94 could become a force to be reckoned with.
