The press conference for Tyson Fury's comeback fight descended into chaos as his father, John Fury, unleashed a profanity-laden outburst and stormed the stage, demanding a fight with Carl Froch. John Fury, aged 60, arrived at the press conference intended to preview his son Tyson's bout against Arslanbek Makhmudov. However, his focus quickly shifted to his adversary, Carl Froch, 48. "I'm John Fury, where the f*** are you, lets get it on," Fury Snr bellowed, his voice echoing through the room. "Where are you pal? Let's get the f*** on with it. Here I am, they talk about me day and night on video."
He continued his aggressive monologue, stating, "Here I am, I'm here to fight. Where are you? Where the f*** are you? The world's been calling me a fing shouse." The exact catalyst for Fury Snr's sudden fury remained unclear, but his animosity towards Froch is well-documented. He had previously challenged Froch to a fight at Wembley Stadium back in 2024.
Froch, who was present at the event working as a pundit for Netflix's coverage, found himself the target of Fury Snr's continued tirade. "Put some fing respect on the name of John Fury and get that fing Carl Froch here," he demanded. "If he wants it I'm fing here and anybody else in this fing building. Look here, (I am) the ultimate f***ing meal."
But here's where it gets controversial: Fury Snr's language became even more charged. "Never f*** with this guy ever again. If you're not willing to put up, fing shut up. Run like a fing bh Carl Froch, run like a fing b***h." He also declared his fearlessness, stating, "I'm afraid of no man, only God almighty, and I'm here to prove it to you all."
He then directly addressed Froch, saying, "F*** this charade this is fing me, John Fury. I don't give a f about no man. Put some fing respect on my name. Because when they mentioned John Fury's name, you run like a bh Carl Froch. Don't talk about me no more because I'll come to knock your f***ing head in."
The chaos didn't end there. Later, during the press conference itself, after approximately 10 seconds of Tyson Fury and Makhmudov being introduced, John Fury rose to his feet. "Can I stop you there? I've made my points here. Tyson I love you son. Spencer [Brown] come here, you are his manager," he announced, before kissing his son and exiting the stage in what were described as bizarre scenes.
This feud between John Fury and Carl Froch has been ongoing for years, largely fueled by Froch's critical commentary on John's involvement in Tyson's career. Froch had notably criticized Tyson in February 2024 after he withdrew from a world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk due to a sparring injury.
